Research,
the heart of the job

Our research teams concentrate on breeding varieties that come up to the expectations of professional growers.
Answer to the whole line of expectations
The understanding of the market and its diversity on an international scale, as well as anticipating its evolution are essential to Clause.

This knowledge is used by our breeding teams to produce varieties which meet the needs of professional growers.
Research, the heart of our job
One third of all Clause staff, working in multidisciplinary teams, are directly involved in research and development.
Specialized research stations
La Bohalle, based in the West of France is dedicated to temperate climate crops including carrot, cauliflower, corn salad (mâche), fennel and broccoli.

In the South of France, two research stations, one at Valence and the other at Saint Rémy de Provence are specialized in more Mediterranean crops including melon, pepper, tomato, squash (courgette), chicory and lettuce.

At La Mojonera (near Almeria), in Spain, our teams work on the main crops for what is the biggest vegetable market in Europe: melon, tomato, pepper, squash…

In addition to the main research centres, Clause has screening stations in Italy (Latina), Spain, Middle East (Upland and Jordan Valley for example)… to test the new varieties under specific climatic conditions.

The breeding teams are backed up by state of the art laboratories equipped with modern material.

A worldwide network of agronomists follow up the results of the new varieties in a wide range of different climatic and geographic conditions. These specialists are experts in a given geographical area and are able to come up with accurate recommendations for their customers and dealers.
